Baltimore Comicon was this past weekend in Maryland and while Warmageddon did not have a booth, Warmageddon creators (both past, present, and future) were available. Writer, Mike " Fist of Justice" Imboden was present at the table next to artist, Ken " the Living Corpse" Haesar (Cease and Desist). On occasion, L Jamal Walton was present behind their tables causing trouble and otherwise being a menace. Two rows over, the FUBAR booth held East of Warmageddon artist, Dominic Vivona, and his High Noon cohort, Jeff McComsey. Jeff will be supplying the art on a future Mik'l story. Even upcoming Conan artist, Mike Hawthorne, who provided art for 2 Warmageddon Quarterly frontispieces was seen lurking about Baltimore after the con.
With so many Warmageddon creators in attendance, we hope that everyone was able to get every Warmageddon item that they craved. If not, they are always available 24 hours a day, 365.25 days a week at BullCityComics.com.
.,
In a small schedule update, Life with Thomas, will be updating on the 15th of every month and not the 1st of the month. Here's a sneak peak of the strip that will appear on Wednesday, Sept 15, 2010.
In rebuilding the Warmageddon empire, Alexander Landa has provided Jamal with his original scan of his Eirian and Orumil art. Jamal took the liberties to fix most of the problems from his first attempt to ink and color this art as he revisits it. See is you can note the differences between this and the previous piece as Jamal works through the inks.

IDW is a small publisher that has grown by leaps and bounds over the last couple years. This growth has been fed mainly through acquiring licenses to make comics of well known properties like Stark Trek, True Blood, GI Joe, Transformers, and Doctor Who. IDW has just landed another property, Dungeons and Dragons and to launch the title, they produced this zero issue for $1 and it shipped with 6 different covers. The cover to the right is COVER B by Wayne Reynolds. Other covers include on by Paul Renaud, Andrea Di Vito, and 3 more excluseive covers (Gencon, Hastings, and PAX 2010) by Wayne Reynolds.
This zero issue served as a preview for the ongoing series and the Dark Sun limited series as well as an announcement for the reprints of the previous D&D series and an upcoming Forgotten Realms comic. So there looks like there will be lots of D&D comic book material over the next couple years which is something that will have all sword and sorcery comic fans rejoicing as D&D comics have been non-existent ove the last 10 years.
Now that the D&D comics are returning to print, let's take a look at the 2 stories offered to us from IDW.
Fell's Four Five is a D&D dungeon crawl. You have a human, dwarf, halfing, and elf traipsing through a maze like cavern after a dragon. They stumble upon a group of slavers, so they must help as the paladins of the group can not leave those that need help behind. This, of course, leads then into yet another adventure as one of the slaves is not exactly what she appears to be. So you have the a quest within a quest which results in the party of 4 becoming a party of 5,
Fell's Five is a good set-up for the on-going comics. It sets up all. the characters as well as giving hints to their roles within the group as well as their D&D classes. Anyone familiar with D&D is likely to have played through a similar dragon crawl and that brings us to the problem with this story, it reads like a standard dungeon crawl which any of us can create in our very own D&D sessions. In order for a D&D comic to stand out, we think it has to bring something new and/or show something interesting. This story so far has done neither.
Freedom is set in the Dark Sun campaign setting and to be honest we are not familiar with Dark Sun at all. The story starts in the bed chambers of a merchant as she betrays her gladiator companion, Grudvik. Grudvik is sent to become a slave. Of course, he refuses to become a slave and escapes. Now he's is being hunted and swears revenge on his merchant lover, Rubi
This story has some parallels to the story that we are telling with Elrohir and Nyla, so we are interested in seeing where Irvine is taking the story. IUnfortunately, the story does not continue until Dark Sun #1 which has a planned ship date in January 2011. From the cover of issue #1, it looks like Grudvik will be joined by a female fighter and there may even be a pirate tale to be told
Supplementary material in this zero issue (and promised in other future issues) includes a stat card for the young black dragon that fought against Fell's Five. This serves a nice introduction to D&D for the comic fans and a nice supplement for D&D players that are reading and may want to introduce new elements into their gaming
Overall, this is a good beginning and we hope to see much more in the near future.

Previously thought to have been lost, Raven's Town and all the art from the project has been located. These files have been sent to Jamal and the Raven's Town story will one day be told here at Warmageddon.com. Raven's Town was written by Stephen Forbes with art by Gerry Fernandez (layouts and character design by Shane Nitszche). It tells the story about how the bwang city of Raven's Town received its name.

Two weeks ago, we suffered a huge drive crash which swiped out a lot of the Warmageddon material. We are still trying to access the damage, but we know for sure that the art of 2 stories have been completely lost. Those stories are Battle Royale by Nando Pinto (which was running on the site) and Raven's Town by Gerry Fernandez.
Battle Royale is a story that has been sitting in the Warmageddon vault for almost 5 years. It was the final story of the transition of Ulmragha from mild mannered and pretty orc to ... well, to Ulmragha the fighter that catches the eye of THF. That story is now being rolled into a future ongoing story that we will present at a later date and the 9 pages that are now on the site will disappear tomorrow.
Raven's Town is a story that has been through at least 4 different artists. It's not a story that's important to the Warmageddon mythos, so it's one of those filler stories that will we assign some time in the future.
Starting tomorrow and running every Tuesdays AND Thursdays (until it's complete) is a 20 strip chapter of the adventures of Mik'l of Jobus featuring Tiegre.
Brat-Halla Volume 1 by Jeffrey Stevenson and Seth Damoose Brat-Halla is a concept that we wish that we'd come up with first. It's a humorous comic that follows the Norse gods when they were kids. You have young Thor with his brothers, Balder, Hod, Heimdal, and Loki. You have Frig and Odiin. There's a plethora of gods and goddess with predefined relationships and personality quirks that Stevenson uses to great effect. Brat-Halla is a web comic that started at Kevin Smith's Movie Poop Shoot web site with colors by Warmageddon's very own, L Jamal Walton. You can get all these adventures online, but if you order from Bull Citu Comics, Jamal has 50 very special issues of Brat-Halla Volume 1 in which he is drawing 50 sketches.
